Abstract

We all know beavers as cute animals with flat tails. They gnaw down trees with their sharp teeth and build dams in rivers. But beavers are much more than lumberjacks. By building those dams, they reshape the whole environment around them and provide their surroundings with more water.

And this actually helps the plants around beaver dams to survive during wildfires! Therefore, we can think of beavers not only as great lumberjacks, but also as effective firefighters.
